Staff are amazing, polite and provide so much in order to help you before, during and after your assessment. I had my assessment here, where the whole experience was handle so amazingly well and I came away feeling so validated and heard. This hasn’t always been the case under other providers and assessors. I was given so much time to talk, to think and to really explain my experiences, which was met with someone with an abundance of kindness, patience, expertises and understanding. Fantastic service, very thorough but well explained process. The ND diagnostician was very patient and kind during the (virtual) assessment. I only waited a couple of months from referral to diagnosis (right to choose referral from GP), excellent communication too.

The member of staff was very understanding and patient. She explained everything in a way for me to understand and learn, things I did not know what was happening in my life and how I learn and process things, I thank this member of staff very much , my family and friends already were aware about things being different and say everything makes sense. People who know me have become much more patient and help me with new way of life learning and when I'm on my tangents, thankyou very much for support.

Wren and Alex could not have done a better job of making me feel at ease. The assessment room was beautiful and comfy. Whole assessment process was structured and paced great, and support and report after diagnosis is fab. Couldn't recommend enough!

READ ME if you are nervous about your Adult Autism Assessment! Now I have your attention, I thought it would be a good idea to write a review for my fellow autistics-to-be to help put you at ease for what is undoubtedly causing you a lot of stress (because I know it did for me!). Axia ASD is quite possible the perfect location for one's autism assessment. The clinic seems to be a converted farm, set on a quiet country lane overlooking farmland, you find yourself just naturally relaxed by the surroundings. The fact that they decided to locate here shows, to me at least, that they care about their patients. Overstimulation is a common issue for people with autism, and this just shows an immense level of care. That segues me neatly into my next point; the staff. They are so friendly and caring, and they seem committed to making the experience of your assessment as relaxing as possible. I was expecting a very clinical assessment, similar to my ADHD assessment, where I would be essentially interrogated by my clinician to determine if I was malingering about my autism or not. This could not be further from the truth. The assessment room had a window that overlooked a beautiful rolling field. The room itself had visual detail to keep things stimulating, but not too much to overstimulate. My clinician, Ren, was patient and kind, and simply allowed me to be me, and talk freely about all the difficulties I had experienced due to my symptoms. I felt listened to for the first time ever when it came to my potential autism. By the end, I saw my condition as not a burden, but a unique perspective that only I and select few others are privy to. My cousin said to me yesterday if I wished I was neurotypical, and I honestly said no. And I think what Ren said helped me understand that. After my assessment was done, I had a lovely chat with some of the reception staff who were all just the best. I never expected my assessment to be actually be fun. The sense of euphoria I had afterwards was palpable. Now, full disclosure, I received a confirmed diagnosis of Autism, which was what I was hoping to receive because it meant I had found the answer to what was 'different' about me and it allows me to understand myself better. Your reaction may differ if you don't get the diagnosis you want. But if you're shopping around for a clinic, or have been assigned this clinic through Right-To-Choose, then you have the golden ticket my friend! These guys are dedicated to helping autistic people feel like they are human and adults, not freaks and children as autism is often depicted in media. I look forward to interacting with them more at their Post-Diagnostic Support Group sessions. And lastly to the staff of Axia ASD... THANK YOU!
