Who checks private ADHD clinics?
342 UK private ADHD clinics checked one by one against the CQC, Healthcare Improvement Scotland, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and RQIA registers. 39 hold a published CQC quality rating, and 39 of 342 say on their own website that they accept NHS Right to Choose referrals. Diagnosis without treatment sits outside CQC’s scope, so an unmatched clinic is not an unregistered one.

How private ADHD clinics say they assess children
What 262 clinics that assess children publish about the pathway they put a child through, read against the published children’s ADHD assessment quality standard. 27 describe all 7 of its essential elements and 40 describe none; 162 say they ask the school for information. Saying nothing is not the same as not doing it.

How private ADHD clinics say they diagnose
What 337 clinic websites publish about their own assessments, read against NICE guideline NG87, the CQC register and Companies House. The median clinic publishes 7 of 20 basic facts; 74 publish all three of the guideline’s core elements. Every clinic-level row is published with it.

The UK Private ADHD Market in 2026
Published prices for 332 private ADHD clinics, each checked against the clinic’s own website. Adult assessments range from £275 to £2,100, and region explains only 9.1% of the difference.
