ADHD Private is a UK comparison site for private ADHD clinics. It lists 332 clinics on price, waiting time, location and NHS Right to Choose eligibility, and is free for patients to use.
ADHD Private is a UK comparison site for private ADHD clinics, covering 332 clinics across 527 locations in 12 regions and all four UK nations. Patients use it free to compare clinics on published price, waiting time, location, age groups served and NHS Right to Choose eligibility. Revenue comes from three sources: a one-off fee that new clinics pay to be listed and the monthly listing subscription that follows it, neither of which buys a position, and a clearly labelled "Featured" advertising placement (Pro). Featured can lift a clinic's position in the site's lists, which say so wherever it does, but nothing a clinic pays changes its rating or reviews. The site has been publishing since December 2025 and is operated by Sellframe Ltd (company no. SC472357), a software company incorporated in Scotland in 2014.

Clinic count is live. Everything else is as of 24 July 2026. These are the clinics we have identified and verified: no public register of UK private ADHD providers exists, so treat it as a floor rather than a total.
Data for journalists
Our data is read from each clinic's own published page and stored with the URL it came from, so every figure can be traced back to a source. The clinic-level files behind the 2026 assessment study are published in full, free to download, with no request needed.
A price and provision study of 332 clinics. Adult assessments range from £275 to £2,100 (median £995, n=161), and region explains only 9.1% of that variation.
Registration, credentials and standards across the 342 clinics we list. 128 are currently registered with the CQC and 39 hold a published rating; 13 hold a current registration with the Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish regulator. A clinic we matched to nothing is not an unregistered clinic: CQC guidance says a service that only diagnoses need not register.
What 337 clinic websites publish about their own assessments, read against NICE guideline NG87, the CQC register and Companies House. The median clinic publishes 7 of 20 basic facts and 34 publish none; 74 of 337 describe all three elements at the centre of the guideline. Every clinic-level row is published with it.
What 262 clinics that assess children publish about the pathway they put a child through, read against the published children’s assessment quality standard. 27 describe all 7 of its essential elements and 40 describe none; 162 say they ask the school for information. Saying nothing is not the same as not doing it.

A median of £995 across 161 clinics that publish a price, ranging from £275 to £2,100: a 7.6-fold spread for the same NICE-guideline assessment.
Region accounts for about 9.1% of the price variation. The gap between the cheapest and dearest clinic inside one region is more than double the gap between regional medians.
CQC guidance updated 26 March 2026 confirms that diagnosis-only ADHD services need no registration. Of the 304 clinics with an England presence that we searched on the register in September 2026, 128 are currently registered and 39 hold a published quality rating. A clinic we matched to nothing is not an unregistered clinic.
51.8% of the 249 companies behind these clinics were incorporated in 2020 or later.
39 of the 342 clinics we list state on their own website that they accept Right to Choose referrals, each with a quote and the page it was read on. It applies in England only and needs a GP referral, and it does not guarantee a shorter wait. Some local NHS areas now limit the number of Right to Choose assessments they fund and have set minimum waits, so an NHS-funded wait can be much longer than the private wait shown for a clinic.
At least 346 companies carrying ADHD in their name sit on the Companies House register, 32 more than on the same date six months earlier. Both figures are minimums, and a company on the register is not necessarily a clinic.

Founder
Phil McParlane
Phil McParlane founded ADHD Private in December 2025 after finding no way to compare private ADHD clinics on what patients actually want to know: what an assessment costs and how long the wait is. The site is operated by Sellframe Ltd, a software company incorporated in Scotland in 2014.
He is not a clinician and does not comment on clinical questions. For those we can point you to NICE guideline NG87 or a clinical body.
How we make money
Patients use ADHD Private free. Clinics are the paying customers: new clinics pay a one-off fee to be listed and then a monthly listing subscription, and some pay for Pro, a clearly labelled "Featured" placement. We take no commission on bookings or referrals. The listing fee and the listing subscription buy a listing, not a position, and clinics listed before 22 October 2026 keep the arrangement they had when they were added. Paid placement is always labelled. It can lift a clinic's position in the lists on our site, and every list where it does says so, as our terms set out exactly. It never changes a clinic's rating or reviews. We say this here because journalists should not have to ask.
