Avoid! Shocking communication, I was told 12 weeks for an appointment and waited 7 months with no indication of when I’d be seen. I had to email them multiple times for updates but got nowhere so asked to be taken off the wait list and didn’t even get an apology or any response whatsoever.

I unfortunately did not have a good experience with Edinburgh Psychiatry. I spent thousands of pounds only to be signposted to an EMDR therapist, who charged over £200 per session and turned out to be linked to this practice (she was excellent, but I couldn't sustain this cost and found another EMDR therapist who charges £80). I asked for a psychiatric genetic test (Myogenes), as I had been made aware of this by a relative. I was advised that, understandably, I would be charged for the test but the psychiatrist would receive the results for free from the company. I was not advised that, in order for me to receive the results, it would be a further few hundred pounds. Unfortunately, the medication that came out of this test as the most suitable for me is not available in UK, unless through a private prescription, which, of course, Edinburgh Psychiatry could provide! In my opinion, this is a business and not a service that provides care and support. I genuinely did not feel any benefit from seeing a psychiatrist over a GP or counsellor and wish I had not wasted thousands of pounds.
