On Tuesday I was diagnosed with Autism by this provider through the right to choose pathway. I wanted to leave a review to share my good experience with them, so that anyone seeking an ASD/ADHD assessment through Atrom Mindcare isn’t hesitant on taking the first step. Overall, I had a really positive experience. The actual waiting time from referral by GP to assessment was only around a month or two (Which is very quick compared to what some people wait) and they were very prompt in sending the pre assessment forms and explaining the process. The ASD assessment happens in two parts, the first appointment is with a psychologist and the second appointment is with a psychiatrist (You also get to choose your clinicians too for your appointments and have the opportunity to read more about their skills and background!) My first and second appointment happened within two weeks of each other and the people I chose were amazing, they really helped me feel comfortable, listened to and understood and they were also very patient with me the entire time. I wanted to especially thank Dr Maria Diaz, she was genuinely SO SO lovely and I could not thank her enough for the kind words she shared when explaining the diagnosis of Autism to me. Thank you so much to the team at Atrom mindcare, because now I have finally found the answers i’ve been looking for my entire life 🩷

Hi highly recommend Atrom Mindcare. I have been recently diagnosed with OCD/ADHD & ASD all through Atrom. I received all 3 diagnosis between March-April 2026. I particularly want to praise Dr Kris Odwn, General Adult Psychiatrist. During my ASD assessment he patiently allowed me to explain every single one of my symptoms/experiences with no rush, he was completely compassionate and empathetic, and made me feel seen & heard. His report was extremely thorough and sent in a timely manner, and I even asked Dr Owden if he wouldn't mind sending another accompanying letter to better explain to my company about ASD/burnout symptoms and further advice to aid my recovery. This letter was in support of the occupational health recommendations, and was extremely helpful. The speed and professionalism of this clinic as a whole is incredible. I'm also about to start ADHD meds in June, so the turnout is outstanding.

My experience with Atrom Mindcare started positively. The wait time for my assessment was very quick and Dr Diaz was professional and helpful. My titration was booked shortly after receiving my diagnosis. However, just 4 days before my titration was due to start, I received an email informing me that my GP had declined shared care and that Atrom only continue treatment for patients whose GPs agree to shared care (even though they took me on for diagnosis). My appointment was cancelled at the same time. I contacted Atrom several times afterwards asking what support or options were available, but my emails were not answered. I eventually had to raise a complaint and contacted the ICB for guidance. Despite this, I was still left without a clear pathway or support following my diagnosis. I am now back on the NHS waiting list to begin titration and medication, which could mean a wait of several years. For a service specialising in ADHD assessments, I was very disappointed by the lack of communication and follow-up. ADHD can come with difficulties such as rejection sensitivity (RSD), and being left without answers or support after receiving a diagnosis can be an incredibly difficult experience for many people. The assessment process itself was good, but the care and communication after diagnosis did not meet the standard I expected from a service supporting people’s mental health.
