Assessment Process
Adult ADHD and autism assessments take 60–90 minutes. A combined assessment takes approximately 3 hours. All assessments include a consultant-signed diagnostic report suitable for GPs and schools. Face-to-face appointments are available at 10 Harley Street, London and Gravesham Community Hospital, Gravesend. A comprehensive diagnostic report is provided, along with a shared care agreement for seamless coordination with your GP.

Does Harley Mind Care accept NHS Right to Choose referrals?
Yes — Harley Mind Care Psychiatrists Ltd holds an NHS Right to Choose contract with NHS Kent and Medway ICB for adult ADHD and autism diagnostic assessments. Patients registered with a Kent and Medway GP can ask their GP to refer them to us at no cost. We are actively expanding nationally and in discussion with ICBs across England — patients outside Kent and Medway are welcome to enquire.
Can Harley Mind Care prescribe ADHD medication?
Yes. Following a diagnosis of ADHD, our GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrists can prescribe ADHD medication including controlled drugs (Schedule 2). We prescribe in line with NICE guidelines (NG87) and the relevant formulary. First-line medications include methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Medikinet) and lisdexamfetamine (Elvanse). Atomoxetine is available as a non-stimulant alternative. Ongoing prescriptions are managed during the titration period by Harley Mind Care, with the option to transfer to your GP under a Shared Care Agreement once you are stable.
Does Harley Mind Care offer shared care arrangements?
Yes. Following a diagnosis of ADHD and successful medication titration, Harley Mind Care will issue a Shared Care Agreement to your GP, allowing them to take over ongoing prescribing once you are stable on your medication. Your GP is not obliged to accept shared care — if they decline, Harley Mind Care will retain prescribing responsibility. Harley Mind Care provides an annual medication review for all patients under shared care. Your GP will need you to attend this annual review in order to continue prescribing.
What assessment methods does Harley Mind Care use?
Our ADHD assessments follow NICE guidelines (NG87) and include a comprehensive clinical interview conducted by a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist, validated rating scales (including Conners and DIVA), collateral history, and a review of developmental and psychiatric history. Our autism assessments follow NICE guidelines (NG170) and include the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), conducted face-to-face by our specialist MDT. All assessments result in a consultant-signed diagnostic report.
How long is an assessment with Harley Mind Care?
Adult ADHD and autism assessments are 60–90 minutes. A combined ADHD and autism assessment is approximately 3 hours. Children and Young People assessments follow the same durations. All assessments are conducted via secure video consultation, with face-to-face appointments available at 10 Harley Street, London and Gravesham Community Hospital, Gravesend where clinically required.
What is Harley Mind Care's cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 7 days before your appointment will receive a full refund. Cancellations between 2 and 7 working days before your appointment will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations within 2 working days of your appointment are non-refundable. Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule and the cancellation policy applies.
