🧒 Specialists for Every Age From primary school age through to adulthood, we have the right specialist for every stage of life. Children, teenagers, and adults are all seen, with assessment approaches tailored accordingly.

The Assessment Process

Our assessments are conducted by specialist clinicians with deep expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions — practitioners who not only hold advanced clinical qualifications but have contributed to published research in this field. We take a neurodiversity-affirming approach: ADHD is not a deficit to be corrected, but a different way of experiencing and engaging with the world — one that deserves to be understood with precision, care, and respect.

Each assessment typically takes two to three hours and follows NICE guidelines using DSM-5 criteria. Our rigorous, multi-method diagnostic workup combines:

• An in-depth clinical interview exploring developmental history, current presentation, and functional impact • Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) and Conners Adult ADHD Rating Scales — gold-standard psychometric tools • QbCheck continuous performance test — an FDA-cleared, objective measure of attention, impulsivity, and activity • Cognitive and executive function testing where clinically indicated

For children and young people, parent and teacher perspectives are incorporated as standard, reflecting our understanding that a young person’s experience of ADHD extends across every environment in which they live and learn.

Every client receives a comprehensive written diagnostic report authored by their assessing clinician — suitable for sharing with their GP, and designed to support applications for workplace adjustments and educational accommodations. You will not leave with a label. You will leave with clarity.

Medication and Ongoing Care

For those for whom medication forms part of the treatment picture, we work with a panel of GMC-registered consultant psychiatrists who manage prescribing and careful titration with the same rigour and attention that characterises everything we do at London Trusted Therapy. Once a client is stable and well-supported, we facilitate transition to a GP shared care agreement — enabling ongoing NHS prescribing and significantly reducing long-term costs, without any compromise in the quality of care.
