The ADHD Nurse is a specialist private ADHD clinic based in Gloucestershire, founded by Vicki George, a Clinical Nurse Specialist with over 10 years' experience as a qualified mental health nurse in the NHS and 6 years specialising in ADHD diagnosis and prescribing.

Comprehensive Assessment Process

The clinic offers NICE-aligned comprehensive assessments taking up to 3 hours across two separate appointments. This unhurried approach ensures thorough evaluation:

Step 1 (Screening): Approximately 1 hour covering life history and full mental health assessment
Step 2 (Diagnostic): 1.5 hours including DIVA diagnostic interview and optional QbCheck cognitive testing

I’m now at the end of my journey with ADHD Nurse, and I wanted to share my experience with anyone considering ADHD treatment. I have a much better understanding of how my brain works, I’m now on medication, and I’m in a far better place. I couldn’t rate my experience any higher. Sara has supported me step by step through my entire ADHD diagnosis and titration process. She’s incredibly easy to get along with, both professionally and personally, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better level of care. She always responds to my questions and concerns promptly—even as early as 5:30am—and consistently goes the extra mile by reminding me of upcoming consultations (which I’d often forget otherwise). If I miss a call, she follows up with emails or voicemails to make sure I don’t miss anything important. What really stands out is how approachable and supportive she is. Unlike my previous experiences with healthcare professionals, she never makes you feel alienated and has always fully understood the mental health challenges I’ve been going through. After being let down by the NHS, I was initially sceptical about going private, but this has genuinely been a life-changing experience. I’ve felt supported and understood throughout the entire process. I’m still figuring out how my brain works, but I no longer feel broken or stuck in a place I can’t get out of. Thank you.

Worth every penny, revolutionised my (60 year old) brothers life. After being written off by nearly everyone. Now diagnosed, medicated, working and largely supporting himself thanks to the support, empathy and expertise of this team. Wonderfully friendly, welcoming and supportive face to face sessions and random follow up support as required. Vicki is also well able to communicate advice in an authoritative and accessible way when needed. Tragic this support wasn't available 50 years ago. Thank you Vicki and all your team. We have recently had to also go through the 'right to choose' diagnosis and titration process in order to get shared care and prescriptions via the NHS. There is absolutely no way my brother could navigate his way through this process without constant support. Video calls with strangers, (not even the same stranger on follow up calls) and technology that doesn't always cooperate is not the way to communicate with people with ADHD or in my opinion any other mental health difficulty. This isn't a criticism of any clinicians, but rather the bizarre and inappropriate conditions they have to work with.
