NHS Right to Choose is an England-only scheme, so it does not exist here — your NHS route is a standard GP referral into the health board's own service, and there is no equivalent right to pick an independent provider at NHS expense.

If you pay privately, check the clinic is registered with Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, not just the CQC: a CQC registration covers a clinic's English sites, not its Welsh ones. Ask too whether it can arrange shared care with your Cardiff GP, which is agreed practice by practice and cannot be promised on your GP's behalf.
