Cardiff is served by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, which both commissions and provides NHS mental health and neurodevelopmental care for the city and the Vale of Glamorgan.

NHS Right to Choose is an England-only scheme, so it does not exist here. Ask your GP about an NHS referral. There is no equivalent right to pick an independent provider at NHS expense.

If you pay privately, check the clinic is registered with Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, not just the CQC: a CQC registration covers a clinic's English sites, not its Welsh ones. Some clinics will write to your GP asking for shared care after a private diagnosis, but your GP does not have to agree.
